Meet the Author: Lois Loofbourrow

Lois Loofbourrow is a single mom with a heart for children. She has been a member of Trinity Life Center in Sacramento for over twenty years. Lois’s love for children motivated her into action that led to an intense study of God’s Word.

“As a Sunday school teacher, I’ve observed that children, as well as teenagers, struggle to find their way through the scriptures. God placed a burden on my heart—to teach children how to effectively use their Bibles; hence, the idea for my soon-to-be-published project, The No Study Bible Study, was born.”

The results of her Sunday school curriculum that has taken years in the making are that children are motivated, parents are excited, and youth pastors are thrilled.

She is currently working on an adult version for the young-in-the Lord, which will be a great blessing to those who’ve just accepted Christ.

Lois’s Background

After studying at San Jose State University, Lois continued her education at Epic Bible College, where she completed a degree in  Christian Ministries. She is actively involved in Celebrate Recovery as part of their media team, which helps teach lessons and encourages newcomers in the hope of Jesus Christ. Lois lives in Antelope, California, and is thankful for her job as a Health Care Coordinator.

Time for Hobbies?

But with a full-time job and the writing of such massive projects on the side, does this busy gal have any time for herself? “I love playing a rowdy game of Cribbage with my two grown sons, as well as working on home projects with my brother, who lives in Oregon. I also enjoy early morning bike rides, photography, and the fellowship of many good friends.”

Her Latest Project

Lois is now writing another book, Silent Obedience, a nonfiction journal based on the life of a woman the Lord brought across her path in a most unusual way.

Lois met Mai (Her full name is Do Huynh Mai – last name is first in Vietnamese) at the Grand Oaks Salon in Citrus Heights, California in 2009.  As Lois’s manicurist, Mai quietly shared bits and pieces of her traumatic childhood in Vietnam. Lois felt honored when Mai gave permission to write her story, which should be finished in six to eight months. Now Mai is no longer silent and wants to share with the world what it was like in war-torn Vietnam before she was fortunate enough to come to this free land.
